Chad worked so hard today on Baby "B"'s room. He finished removing the rest of the wallpaper. What a PAIN! And he put one complete layer of primer on the walls. There were 3 tones of paint under all the wallpapper, so Chad thinks we need to put 2 coats of primer on before painting and then maybe he will only have to put one good coat of paint on, instead of two. That would be nice because we both would love to not paint ever again! HAHA! We thought that after we repainted the entire condo. But then, we painted Noah's room and then Chad's primed and painted the entire exterior of the house, and now Baby "B"'s room.
When we started doing the primer this afternoon, he laughed as he said "well, here we are painting again!" Yep. We just can't get enough of it! ;) This is the room that needed it the worst though. It will look so different and so much better once we're all done. Actually, it already does!Comments:traci: Oh boy! I can't wait to see the room! Heck, I can't wait to see theAdd a comment:

One thing we have noticed is that Noah totally associates his little bear security blanket (his "lovey") with sleep. It's the one toy we have always had with him in his crib when we put him down for his naps during the day or for sleep at night.
So, whenever he has his lovey outside his crib, Noah's thumb goes straight into his mouth and he'll put his head down. I've never seen him suck his thumb otherwise, so it's a strong association. It's cute to see how much comfort that little blanket brings him.
I read that it's a good idea to get a "back-up" lovey, once your baby has chosen one. So, I bought another one a couple weeks ago. Now, just in case anything happens to that lovey, we have another one ready to go.Comments:Add a comment:

Chad said he had the best day ever with Noah today. He was Mr. Mom today. When Noah woke up, Chad brought him to our bed and played with him for a little while. Noah LOVES grabbing everything we have laying on our headboard - especially the phone and the remote controls. Soon after, Chad laid down and closed his eyes trying to get Noah to maybe sleep longer. It worked and Noah and Daddy napped together for a little while. Chad loved that and thought that was very cool.
Oh, my aching back. Sitting at my desk all day aggravates my back soooo badly. And last night, after showering, I started feeling little tingly areas on my back. Chad says it's from nerves being pinched. Great. He has been soooo incredibly understanding and is always offering to give me massages. I hate having him work so hard, but it does feel so good. I roll up my pregnancy pillow in a circle and can lie on my tummy. Nothing feels better than a good massage! Chad also has been helping me stretch at night before bed. This morning, it felt like I had a workout! I also did the back exercises to the prenatal yoga DVD I got when I was preggo with Noah. Anything for some relief!Comments:Add a comment:

Noah's nose was runny again this morning when he woke up. But throughout the day, it wasn't too bad. I hope that's a sign of him getting well.
His appetite hasn't been affected by the cold. He still eats really, really well. We're still having issues with him not finishing his milk at each meal though. So, we have been supplementing Noah's diet with more yogurt, cheese and cottage cheese, but I don't know if that's enough. Being concerned, I called his pedi Dr. K. I really love him. He reassured me that as long as Noah is thriving and staying on his growth curve, I shouldn't worry about how much milk he is or isn't drinking. I asked about a minimum amount of milk that Noah should be drinking each day, and he didn't want me to even worry about that. He said that if I wanted to bring Noah in to get weighed and measured, I could do that.
Noah fell asleep in the car as we were running errands this morning and this afternoon. I took a chance waking him up to get him out of his carseat and into his crib to finish his nap. Especially since he's sick, I wanted to make sure he got the best rest possible. Anyway, most of the time, he'll wake up too much and will cry when we get him in his crib. But today, both times, he popped his thumb in his mouth and went to sleep. His cold must really be tiring him out.
I had my OB check-up for Baby "B" this afternoon. I go every 2 weeks now. I gained a few pounds over the last 2 weeks. NOT GOOD. I'm only 6 pounds away from hitting the weight I gained with Noah with still 10 weeks to go. :( Dr. Kaminskas said everything looked good.Comments:Add a comment:

Noah has got a little cold again. When I got home from work, his little nose was running. He seemed to be in good spirits regardless.
We went to Taco Tuesday out at the Rose Canyon Cantina. It was a yummy and cheap dinner.
Noah's getting better at imitating us. On the ride home, he said "dada"! He's also been doing this machine-gun sound lately. We realized it's Noah imitating Chad when he clears his throat. It's very funny and he does it really well!Comments:Add a comment:

I guess I'd waddling now 'cause this is the second day in a row someone at work has told me! HAHA! I really don't notice that I'm doing it. That's bad. I know I do it a lot at home because I'm really tired by the end of the day. But at work? Quack, quack!
It's so funny that some people say that I'm much smaller than last time. Most people say that I'm a lot bigger though. Those people are right! And the couple friends that have predicted think that I'm having a boy again. I'm still kinda leaning that way, too. God only knows! :)Comments:Add a comment:

Team Thompson spent a leisurely day home. We originally had a busy day planned with a hula show that I was going to do for another one of Kuh's concerts in Arcadia. I ended up bowing out of that one (and next month's show, too) since I wasn't looking forward to the long drive, plus it's more challenging for me to dance now that I'm HUGE. Afterwards, we were supposed to go to the Haan's to celebrate Carrie's birthday, but she's been sick and so they cancelled the party.
So...Chad & I just played with Noah all day. We took a bunch of video today of all the cute things Noah was doing. For one, he's been starting to do this "moon scoot" thing. That's what Chad named it. He sits down and moves his legs and ends up scooting backwards. It's the funniest thing. I got a little video of it...too bad he was CRANKY at the time I was filming. The fact that he's crying when he's doing it makes it even funnier though, I think.
The other thing Noah was having fun doing is pushing around his high chair. It's on wheels, so he's able to practice walking with it. He loved going around and around the kitchen with it.
We also pushed Noah around on the little fire truck from Tito Nanie & Tito Lin. He looooveess going FAST!
In the afternoon, we started peeling off all the wallpaper from Baby "B"'s room. What a PITA!!!!! We realized no one would EVER put up wallpaper if they ever had to take it OFF! HAHA! It's such a tedious project. Chad was a pro at peeling off the big strips. Then I scraped off the bottom layer. Ugh. We only got about 1/3 of the room done before we ran out of wallpaper remover and then called it a day. Thank goodness. We needed a break!Comments:Add a comment:

Noah & I had a busy day today. Daddy was working so he missed all the fun. First, we went to birthday party (#4 so far this month!) celebrating Alex's 1st birthday. His dad Ed & I went to high school together. They had an amazing party with the most incredible balloons I've ever seen. There was a magic show and lots of food. Noah had a lot of fun.
Afterwards, we went to Mama & Papa's to spend the night. Julia & Brielle had set up a tea party for Ashley's birthday (Julia's cabbage patch doll). It was VERY cute. Apparently, they were watching the clock waiting for Noah & I to start the party since I told them we'd be over around 2:30. We didn't get there until closer to 3 and they were so excited. We had doilies and little cakes and place settings and apple cider "tea". When Mama started to gather around the table, Julia promptly told her she was "not invited"! LOL!!! So, Mama ended up being the "servant" and made us more pb&j sandwiches. Too funny!Comments:Add a comment:

Noah's not drinking his milk very well. I guess he likes his formula better. Ew, really?! So, we have to keep trying to get him to finish his milk at each meal. I'm hoping this phase ends soon.
We're supplementing his milk with other calcium-rich foods: cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt... He LOVES yogurt. It's like we're feeding him ice cream. It's so cute to see his mouth wide open for the next spoonful.Comments:Add a comment:

We got to see Baby "B" a little better this morning. We had a 4D ultrasound and got few pictures. They're not great, but I think the baby's nose is more pointy like Chad's. :)

We had a lazy day today. Chad had a tough night at work and was really tired when he got home, so he slept on & off until almost 5 pm! I just watched and played with Noah all day. I got a tiny nap in, too, when Noah went down this afternoon.
Noah made the milk sign again today. We were in the car and his sipper cup had fallen to the side. I'm not sure he really is asking for his milk, but it's exciting to think that he's trying to communicate with us using sign language.
Remember Noah's destructive phase? Well, he still knocks everything down. But lately, he's been starting to help us BUILD the tower of blocks and BUILD the stack of buckets! It's so fun to see him growing each day.Comments:Add a comment:

No more formula for Noah! We finished the last of the formula yesterday, so no more formula/milk blends. He's getting 100% homogenized milk now. Life just gets easier and easier. :)
I feel like I'm going to pop. Lately, my belly has felt so tight and I'm sooo bloated. I hardly feel like eating even though I know I'm hungry. I've been eating pretty well still though. I just have to get past that feeling that I'm full and I'll easily finish a full meal. My problem now is that I'm eating for no reason which I have to stop! I've been eating candy and chips. Not good. No wonder I gained five pounds again this past month!
This baby has been moving sooo much lately, too...much more than I remember with Noah. How funny if it turns out to be a girl and she's so much more active.Comments:traci: We need to see you, it's been way too long! Hang in there girl, not much longer to go!!!!!! =) Enjoy yourself - this is the LAST TIME you are going to be pregnant!!!!!!Add a comment:

I bought Noah size 4 diapers today. Our boy is growing!
I had a great appointment at my OB's today - even though I got weighed and gained another 5 pounds!!! ARGH! That means I've actually only gained 22 pounds so far, which is pretty good, but I still had 20 pounds on me from Noah, so the total is up to 42 pounds. I'm just 8 pounds away from gaining 50 pounds again with this baby and I still have 12 weeks to go. :(
The good news is that I got my glucose test results back and my number was 116! The number I didn't want to reach is 140 (which means that I may would have gestational diabetes), so Dr. Kaminskas said I wasn't even close! Woo hoo!! My iron levels were good, too. Wow! I don't have to take any iron supplements this time - I did with Noah. She said we're on the way to having another healthy baby. :D
We said good-bye to the Altima this afternoon. It's been a great little car, but the transmission was really starting to slip. We donated it to Cars4Causes and our church will get the proceeds.Comments:traci: So much good news from the doc - yaay! Hang in there, you might be able to get through the next 12 weeks in less than 8 pounds, that would be awesome!
Way to go on the car donation! You guys are such amazing people to do such a great thing!Add a comment:

Noah is 13 months old today! He's so fun to watch play. One of his favorite things to do with his toys that have wheels is turn them upside down and then spin the wheels. Because his main "playground" is on carpet, I guess it's hard for him to really push them around like they're meant to. So, he's found that turning them over and playing with the wheels is just as fun.
He still continues to stare at the CD player when we play his Baby Einstein CD. Not sure if that means he loves music or that he's trying to understand what it is that sound is coming from, that doesn't look like a TV. He loves playing with the buttons because it will change the track that's playing. He thinks it's a toy.
Noah seems to understand when we say "kiss" or "high 5". He'll kiss whoever or whatever and raise up his hand for a "high 5"...soooo dang CUTE!!!
Noah loves yogurt. We're giving him vanilla. I'm trying to stay away from the fruit ones only because I think those have a lot more sugar. It must taste like dessert to him. Actually, sometimes it tastes like dessert to me, too!Comments:Add a comment:

Team Thompson got up early this morning (5 am!) for Daddy's annual Pacific Coast Triathlon. He did great! Despite Chad not training much for this year's race, he did great! He was one of the first 10 guys out of the water and he finished within a few minutes over last year's time. We are so proud of you, Daddy!
Noah was a bit cranky...maybe because we got him up so early. It's funny (so far) to watch him go through his little tantrums, especially when he puts his face down on the ground and cries. It's so sad, it's FUNNY!Comments:Add a comment:

Noah had his first playtime on a trampoline today. We were at his friend Vailana's first birthday party and she has a ginormous backyard with all sorts of fun equipment. Her parents are stunt people...cool. Anyway, he had fun bouncing and jumping with Daddy. Pictures will be posted soon.

Baby "B" is due THREE months from today! We haven't done really anything to get ready for him/her. We had all the upstairs windows replaced last month for better insulation, but that's it. Chad just pulled out the bed last night and moved my hope chest into our room. But we still need to scape off a bunch of wallpaper and repaint, and I have to clear out the closet. Ugh. We have to furnish the whole room, too...crib, changing table, rocking chair...those are the biggies.

Noah loves bananas. He'll eat a whole one no problem. Noah loves banana cinnamon waffles, too! We've had them for breakfast the last couple days in a row. Good thing because mommy & daddy love them, too, so we have them a lot. He ate a lot for breakfast this morning. Given the choice between pieces of banana or pieces of waffle to pick up to eat, he kept choosing the waffles. Ah, he's a carb lover just like his mommy.
Chad started putting latches on the cabinets downstairs where the chemicals are stored in the kitchen and laundry room. He already put a latch on the toilet downstairs, too. Rascal Noah gets in everything lately, so we're slowly getting caught up on the babyproofing.
It was so great to stay home and just relax all weekend. We took a nap every day when Noah went down for his afternoon nap and watched movies each night. It was awesome. I even got a massage. Chad spoils me. :)
I hope we get some relief from all this heat soon. We've had the house closed up ALL weekend with the a/c running. I can't remember having to do that for more than 2 days in a row. Usually, we can run the house fan at least during the night. Now it's going on 4 days with lows in the mid-80's (WTH?!) and is supposed to last all week long at least. The new windows seem to really help keep the heat out and it's actually cooler upstairs which is a definite change from the last couple of summers. You can go now, Summer! Come on, FALL!!!Comments:Add a comment:

I'm so glad Chad called-in sick for today! He was sleeping in when we had a little earthquake. It wasn't big, but it was Noah's first! ;) We were playing in the living room and I picked Noah up really fast and went upstairs to get Chad. When I opened the bedroom door, Chad was just getting up because he felt the shake. It was a good time for us to talk about what to do when a bigger, longer one hits. Scary.
Bummer...we were talking about what to dress up as for Halloween this year and then took a look at Chad's work schedule. He has to work every single holiday for the rest of the year: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas AND New Year's Eve! B shift is the pits - grrrr.Comments:Add a comment:

Chad called in sick for his shift tomorrow, so we'll be spending the holiday weekend in, getting better hopefully!
It was fun playing with Noah all day. One thing we realize is that he LOVES knocking things down. We have wooden blocks that we'll stack up and Noah just HAS to knock it down. Chad was smart and started making pyramids out of theblocks, so the foundation would stay intact and wouldn't need to be built completely from scratch each time. Noah does the same thing with some plastic buckets that we stack. It can't stay like that, mommy. They must be destroyed! LOL!Comments:Add a comment:
