Noah has mastered the army crawl. Check out the video! He hates to sit anymore and is always wanting to pull himself up. He is getting really good at standing while holding on to the sofa, or chair or box. He is constantly on the move now, walking back and forth while holding on to the sofa...too cute. He travels from one end of the sofa to another, but it's not very fast. It's cute to stand him up at one section of the sofa and then see him in a completely different place later. He's so good about playing on his own with his toys, especially when I'm by myself and trying to cook dinner.
He turns the book pages really well during storytime and doesn't try to bite his toothbrush as much anymore when I'm brushing his teeth. He even lets me brush his tongue.
I can't wait to teach Noah how to blow kisses and do "sooooo big"! :)

So our darling son has discovered that if he grinds his 2 top and 2 bottom teeth (all he has BTW) together, they make noise. I'm hoping the grinding isn't doing anything too bad to his teeth.
He's getting to be an expert scooter, too! That banana bread really works to get him moving. He ate the last piece tonight at Mama & Papa's, as Daddy was demonstrating his new skill. Time for Mommy to make more!
The FUNNIEST part of the night was when Julia was opening her birthday presents and my mom kept playing with Noah, instead of watching HER! She actually said, "I'm HERE! It's MY birthday!" And so my mom started mocking her and would say "Noah, Noah, Noah" and really be looking at Jula. HAHA!! Jula would just look at my mom and give her the stink eye. And then she told my mom "I can see what you're doing!" pointing at the side of her head, like she has an extra eye there. She's hysterical!Comments:Add a comment:

Noah is starting to finally scoot! He's been moving a little more and more each day. Now it's starting to look like an army crawl. Chad got him to chase after a plate of my banana bread. HAHA! He loves it! It definitely motivates him to get moving, so I'm trying not be too freaked out that he's eating something other than baby food. Chad just gives him a tiny taste of it each time he crosses the floor. It's too cute. I got a little video of it and will upload it soon.

We were so proud of Noah tonight. We had El Pollo Loco for dinner and tried to give him some chicken pieces to feed himself. I'm really looking for other things to give to him to feed himself other than puffs. I read that Cheerios are the equivalent of junk food to babies, so I'm really wanting to not start him on those. And puffs are probably similar. Anyway, in the past when we've tried giving him food (anything other than Gerber puffs), he would just play with it and toss it on the ground eventually. I don't think he realized it was food. But tonight, he ate the chicken! We were sooo excited! HAHA!! He did kinda play with it for a while before he ate them, but he finally put it in his mouth and ate them! WOO HOO! Then Chad decided gave him some pinto beans to try and eat. He smashed them around a little as well, but eventually he ate those, too! YAY, Noah!!! I was so afraid that he would never think anything but Gerber puffs were food.

I had my 3rd prental appointment today, and I gained just ONE pound over the last month! WOO HOO!!!! I was amazed 'cause my belly popped out so much over the last few weeks.
It's a long shot, but if I maintain this slow weight gain, then I'll definitely be able to stay within the 35 max pounds that I hope to.
Technically, I'm already at 24 pounds (since I never lost the last 20 lbs from Noah), so I have my work cut out for me.Comments:traci: you are an inspiration! YOU GO GIRL!!!Add a comment:

Mama gave Noah a couple of new books today. One is a Nemo book with the buttons on the side that play little sound bites. Well, Noah loved looking at them and hearing the sounds. There one sound in particular (for Crush) that, when I pressed it, he would kinda jiggle his body from side to side, like he was dancing. It's got a fun little rhythm, so I think he was digging the beat. It was TOOO CUTE and I kept pressing it over and over again so he would keep doing it. So much fun!

Chad just called me. We just sold my BMW and he just bought my new car. Well, used new car, but still new to me. I will now be driving a silver '05 Nissan Murano. We've been looking for a while and this is the car I really wanted. I am very excited! We are a Nissan family - a '95 Altima, '04 Armada and '05 Murano!
As far as transportation goes, we now are ready for Baby #2!

Noah bit me today. He somehow picked up a habit of biting on his sleeve from time to time. Well, he was crawling on me and got a hold of my sleeve along with part of my arm. He's got a strong bite 'cause it really hurt! He didn't break the skin, but man he's got strong jaws.
He was very cute and playful tonight. He started doing his head shaking thing, so I did it back. Then he did it again and we kept going back and forth at least a dozen times. I so wished I had my camera to video tape it, but I didn't want to stop and break the moment.Comments:Auntie Lin: He almost bit me too when I carried him last weekend. I felt his teeth come down on my shoulder and as he closed his jaw, I moved my shoulder slightly so he only chomped on the stitched area of my t-shirt. He bit it for about 3 seconds and let go. I have one complaint . . . He doesn't have spicy feet anymore, put his socks back on!!!Add a comment:

Noah is 10-months old today! He's eating really well now...around 4 oz. of solids at each meal, plus about 8 oz. of formula. He's really good at picking up the Gerber puffs and feeding himself. But unfortunately, that's the only finger food he really has come to know. So when we try to give him bananas or pasta or bread, etc. he just plays with it and drops it on the ground. Argh!
We stopped seating him in the Bumbo a couple weeks ago because Chad saw him roll himself out of it! So, we have a new toddler seat that works really well. It's a bit bulkier, but much more secure.
He still makes choking noises from time to time, too, which is always funny to hear. Thankfully, he's been ok and not really choking.
He's a great sleeper still. We'll put him to bed at 8 pm and he won't make a sound until around 8 am the next morning. It's awesome.
He's trying to crawl, but doesn't know how to pull his knees up under himself. He's starting to pull up and loves to be on his feet. Whenever we sit him down lately, all he wants to do it stand up. We'll stand him up and lean him against the couch and he'll play for a while with toys on the seat area until he starts losing his balance. If he falls, all he wants to do is stand up again. I was joking months ago that he was going to skip the crawling altogether. But it really seems like he really might!
He's still saying babababa and sometimes ma or what sounds like mom. But no real words yet. We're trying to teach him sign language (milk, eat, more), but he hasn't shown us that he understands what they mean.Comments:Add a comment:

Noah got ice cream for the first time tonight -thanks to his cousin Natashia! We were at BJ's Restaurant for Carmen's birthday and got pizzookies for dessert. Well, I look over and Tash was feeding him a spoonful of melted ice cream...oh my gosh!
The Ducks were playing Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals and WON! We were near the bar and there were TV monitors all over the restaurant showing the game. It's already a loud place anyway, but with everyone whooping and hollering, it was even more deafening. Noah would look around to see where the loud noises were coming from each time someone yelled. He freaked out a little and cried a bit each time the crowd got really rowdy. Poor little guy. We tried to console him, but it was also a little funny to see him react that way.Comments:Add a comment:

Noah got to spend 2 night's at Mama and Papa's this past weekend. We had a busy one driving up to Oxnard for a birthday party on Saturday and then San Diego on Sunday for my hula performance with Kuh Ledesma (a popular singer in the Philippines). Chad & I left Noah with Mama & Papa on Saturday night after the party because we had to leave at 10 am the next morning and be in San Diego for the entire day. We had to be at the Harrah's Casino by 12 noon for rehearsal, then we had two shows at 3 and 7 pm. Between shows, we got to eat at the buffet and OVERINDULGED in king crab legs...YUMMY!!! I don't remember eating that much in a loooong time. HA! Thank goodness we decided to let Noah spend Sunday night at Mama & Papa's, too, because it was already 10:30 pm by the time we got back to the O.C. and Chad & I were both exhausted. It was a long, but memorable day!

Noah is REALLY sleeping through the night now. :) We put him to bed between 7:30 and 8 pm each night and had been "dream feeding" him his last (4th) bottle of the day around 9:30 pm each night. Well, the past 5 nights, he's only eaten 1 or 2 ounces (out of a 7 oz. bottle) and then refusing the rest and even crying at us to stop forcing the bottle on him. So, we took that as a sign and decided to try not feed him. We went to bed and held our breaths...and he's slept!!! He weaned himself! He's such a good baby. He's growing up sooo fast.
