Oh man, I can no longer run for "Mom of the Year". Noah FELL today and it was all my fault. As soon as he learned how to roll over, I kept telling everyone "don't leave him on any high places because he may fall off". Well, do as I say, not as I do. I was changing his poopy diaper and wanted to air him out before I velcro'ed him back in, so I left him on the ottoman section of the sofa where we normally change him downstairs. Well, I was seriously gone for TWO seconds (as they ALL say) to throw away that stinky diaper and got back just to see him pull his little legs over and go DOWN! I felt sooooooooooooooooo bad! He cried of course. Thank goodness we have that area carpeted. I don't think he was hurt, just scared really. Man, I felt awful!!!!!!

Noah completed his very first 5K this morning. He's even got a medal to prove it. :) Team Thompson beat last year's time and clocked in at 49 min 56 sec - almost 4 minutes faster than in '06 (it was 54:51)! Even Papa Gube came and joined us this year. He was actually a few seconds faster than us 'cause he jogged ahead past the finish line to take pictures as we crossed it. :) It was lots of fun and we hope to post pictures soon.
Another milestone - Noah started pulling up this afternoon! I was sitting next to him on the floor and before I knew it he was grabbing my arm and on his feet! I was so amazed. I sat him back down (which is so hard to do sometimes 'cause he loves standing) and watched him do it a second time. Later, he pulled up while Chad was laying next to him, too. It looks like this boy will be skipping the crawling and going straight to walking. He hasn't shown any signs of wanting to crawl. He'll roll and pivot on him tummy, but that's all. It's funny to watch him do the "swim" when he's on tummy time. He just doesn't know how to pull him legs under himself. He does mini push-ups great though.Comments:Add a comment:

I watched Noah discover his hands today. It was so cute to watch him sitting down and looking back and forth from his right hand to his left as he was opening and closing his fists. It made me laugh!

We got to share our exciting news about expecting Baby "B" today! The official announcement went out right after I told my boss Scott. It's so much fun hearing everyone's reactions. We are so blessed with this second baby and with all the support we get from our family and friends. It's really so wonderful!

We got our first ultrasound! Everything so far looks good and my due date is pretty much right on. I was able to see the baby’s little hand - amazing. It looked like he/she was sucking his thumb. Now I need to get Noah home and take a bunch of pics of him holding one of the sonograms for our big announcement!
We got to hear the baby’s heartbeat, too, and I gave MORE blood for more tests. Joy. The really good news is that I didn't gain any weight over the last month! I should check my chart from my last pregnancy and see how much weight and how quickly I was gaining back then. It will be interesting to compare, especially since I hope to exercise a lot more this time around.
I asked my dr if it was even remotely possible for me to only gain 25 pounds with this baby, since that means I’ll still be up to 45 lbs total since I never got rid of the last 20 with Noah. She said “yes”! I’m hoping I can.
Oh my gosh, I seriously took about a hundred pictures today trying to get a perfect one of Noah with the sonogram pic. Even I was getting tired of trying to get him to smile AND look at the camera AND hold the pic! But I think we’ve got a couple that will work.
Comments:Sara: I am so excited for you and your family! I can't wait to see how adorable your next one is going to be. CONGRATULATIONS!traci: YAAY! YAAY! YAAY! CONGRATULATIONS, TEAM THOMPSON! THIS IS SOOO EXCITING!!!!!!!! NEW BABY! YAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!Add a comment:

Even though the books say I won’t be feeling the baby kick for another 6 weeks or so, I swear I felt him/her tonight! It was a little high on my belly though, so it couldn’t be.
I can’t wait for my ultrasound on Wednesday! They’ll measure the baby and then I’ll get an official due date based on his/her size. Plus, with the sonogram (and reaching the 12 week mark), we can make the official announcement to our friends and work. I’m showing so much already that I won’t be surprised if anyone’s already figured it out yet.Comments:Add a comment:

Hey, I don't hurt that badly today either. Yay! I can definitely feel that I worked my legs and my arms a little, but they're definitely not sore. It's a good feeling!
Now, I just need to start working in my schedule the Mommy & Me DVDs that Chad got me for Christmas. I've had them for 6 months now and haven't done them once! My days just get so busy trying to get stuff done. But I know that's just an excuse. I even have had it scheduled in my planner on my Weds/Sats/Suns with a time and everything. I just need to do it!!! It will be a fun thing to do with Noah. :)Comments:traci: Wow, you're gonna be Muscle Mommy 2007!!!Add a comment:

Noah and I had our first official Stroller Strides class today. I signed up for a block of 10 classes, so I'm planning to go every Wednesday morning. Our very first class was last month (a free "check-it-out" class)and my legs and especially arms were sore for almost a week! Noah did great sitting in his stroller and watching us moms do our exercises. About half the babies were fussy and crying throughout the entire class, but not Noah! He just kept smiling at me the whole time...everyone thought he was so cute (or course)! He such a good baby!!! :)
We met Kristen and Dylan at the Irvine Spectrum for lunch today, too. We did some shopping at Carter's and Target and then sat down and ate with our boys at Red Robin. I was warming Noah's bottle with some hot water from our thermos...well, I left it at the restaurant. ARGH! So, I gotta go back and pick it up. What a PITA! At least I didn't lose it.Comments:Add a comment:

Jeanette, Jennifer and I have been walking during our lunch break for a few weeks now. I go with them on Mondays and Fridays. (They meet on Wednesdays, too, but I'm off that day.) Today, we did the stairs in TDA again - 6 times! We changed it up a little by going sideways, instead of walking straight up the stairs.
We started the stairs last Monday when it was like 100 degrees and too hot to walk outside as we usually do. And I think that's the plan now - Monday is stairs. We did 5 sets of stairs last week and my quads and calves were hurting soooo bad. I could barely walk the next day, and they got even more sore as the days went by. I was so glad I was off on Wednesday! My body finally recovered on Thursday, so by Friday I was ready to walk again.Comments:Add a comment:

Happy Mother's Day! We had brunch at Acapulco with the Gube and Garcia families. When Chad & I walked into the restaurant, Noah already had a flour tortilla in his hand. We'd never given one to him before and he loved it!
I've been so conservative when it comes to food. I haven't given him anything he shouldn't have. So, I was a little freaked out when I saw him with that tortilla at first, but I realized it really doesn't have anything that bad in it...right? A little lard, that's it maybe, right?
He had the tortilla in his left hand and just kept biting off it the whole time. Those top two teeth came in handy today! It was great because that tortilla keep him busy which allowed us to eat, too!Comments:Add a comment:

Noah loves shopping! Every time I take him with me to Target, CostCo, Ralphs, etc. (we did all 3 and more today!) and sit him in the shopping cart seat, all he can do is smile at me. :) It's the cutest thing and I can't help but keep kissing him every chance I get. He's got such an easy-going personality. I know we are spoiled by having such an easy baby. He's such a good boy!

Noah is 9 months old today!!! He was doing the CUTEST thing a dinner tonight. He was actually imitating Chad! Chad would clap his hands and then Noah would clap his hands. Chad would shake his head and then Noah would shake his head. They kept doing it back and forth...it was too cute!!!
Our little boy is growing up! He's getting really good at his pincer grasp and picking up the little Gerber puffs and putting them in his mouth. Sometimes he will still miss, or the puff with get stuff inside his palm. But every day, he shows improvement. His hair is starting to fill in all over. There's still a bald spot on the very back of his head though. He's smiling sooo much more now and it's getting easier for me to make his smile and laugh. He doesn't like sitting still and always is grabbing for things. He's knocked over more glasses because we weren't paying attention to what was within his reach!
Chad fed Noah meet for the first time today. Noah tried chicken, just a teaspoon at each meal, but he didn't really care for it. Chad said he'd just shake his head. HAHA! So, he had to mix it with his veggies. We need to try some fresh chicken next time. The jarred stuff does look pretty nasty.
We forgot to take Noah's 9-month Nemo picture tonight...we were tired, too, and put the baby boy to bed before we realized we forgot our little monthly ritual! We'll have to make up that photo session this weekend, when Daddy's home on Sunday.Comments:Add a comment:

Noah's 9-month pediatric appt went well! I love his new dr! :)
He is only 19 lbs 7 oz...I guess that veggie scale was pretty right on! HAHA!!! But both Chad & I thought he was way heavier than that.
We get to start serving Noah meats - chicken and turkey to begin with. They are the least allergenic. Beef, pork and fish will probably wait until he's a year old.Comments:traci: It is SO FUNNY that you put him on the veggie scale! HAHAHAAAdd a comment:

Noah is getting two more teeth on the top! He's had some swollen gums for a while now and it looked like the teeth were already out. But when you'd feel for them, there was nothing. Now you can feel them and see them! :)

Chad got back from his 6-day camping trip tonight! It was sooo nice to have him back home. He's got all week off, yay! Then he works on Saturday and then off all day Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day!
I have Wednesdays off, so that will be a fun day for us to just do little things together. It will be Noah's 9-month appt, too! I'm excited to see how much he weighs. I could swear he is definitely over 20 lbs, but I put him on the vegetable scale at the grocery store last week and he was only around 19-1/2! He will being seeing a new pediatrician, too. This new dr is in the same office / practice as Noah's old one. Apparently, she got married and left the state with no notice! I just got a call a couple weeks ago from the office saying that she's gone. I just had to laugh. It's actually a blessing in disguise because I wasn't really happy with her. She seemed to disregard and discount my concerns whenever I'd come to her with something I was worried about. But I didn't want to just switch dr's based on that because I didn't know if it would just be a case of "the grass is greener". I can't complain too much though 'cause she did an awesome job on Noah's circ. I hope I like Dr. K as much as I think I will. He was actually the very first dr to examine Noah at the hospital after he was born, doing the rounds at the hospital of all the newborns. And he was very personable and very nice I thought. He had just had twins, too! Then Noah's regular pediatrician did the circumcision and had been the one to examine him ever since. The other good thing about Dr. K is that he is available on Wednesdays (obviously), so I don't have to take time off work now to go to Noah's appts. His old dr was available on every day EXCEPT Wednesdays! Figures. I should've taken that as a sign. ;)

Noah got to meet his girlfriend KJ for the first time this morning. She was born on May 5 and she's got sooo much hair - dark and curly! She's sooo tiny, too! I can't remember him ever being that small. And Noah looks huge compared to her. It was a short visit, but a fun one. Mom Traci and Dad Donnie are doing great!
Comments:traci: I was just talking to KJ and she was telling me that she can't wait to see Noah again! =) He is SO BIG next to her, it's amazing! Thank you guys for visiting us in the hospital...we love you!!!Add a comment:

Chad leaves for 6 days to go camping with his friends in NV. I started tearing up (dang, that’s been happening so much lately) thinking about him being gone for so long. It will be the longest he’ll have been away from Noah and me. I’m glad he is doing the things he loves with his friends. We’ll just miss him!!! Ok, here come the tears again. ;)
