I had a Bad Mommy Day. I was carrying Noah on my hip, then turned without seeing the door slightly closed, so he bumped the side of his head on the side of the door! He let out a little whine. I felt sooo bad. Then, maybe a half an hour later, I accidentally pinched his finger as I was buckling him into his stroller. I was wondering why it wouldn't snap together. His reaction was a little delayed, too...another little whine. No Mother's Day award for me this year!

(Ooops...Chad just reminded me that I had ran Noah into ANOTHER door the other day, too! We were coming out of the pantry. It's tight quarters in there. Oh man, this mommy brain thing is not good.)

Sara:  Well at least you didn't drop him! I don' want to admit it, but I've done it before. Yeah...don't you want me holding your child now?? Hey we're all human!
traci:  awww...don't worry about it! he's tough! ;-)

Noah started clapping yesterday! He did it more today when he was trying to catch bubbles for the first time. I think he was having fun. I found a cute Nemo bubble maker at Target and it works really well (noisy though). You can watch the video under the "videos" tab.

And today, he was lying down, playing with his floor gym. He loves batting around the clear ball with the smaller jingle ball inside it. Well, he was having so much fun, that he was making himself laugh! It was too cute and the first time I've heard him laugh on his own.

Oh man, I went to a new doctor today and got on the scale for the first time since before having Noah. AAAAHHHH!! I'm sill over 20 lbs from my pre-preggo weight. No wonder I can only fit into my maternity clothes!

Moving on...and speaking of Noah, I've been wondering how much he weighs since we haven't been to his doctor since his 6 month appt. I remembered a trick that a friend told me about when we were at the grocery store. When no one was looking, I put him on the vegetable scale! 19-1/2 pounds. That's it???!!! I could've sworn he was at least 20! More like 21 or 22. Well, we'll find out for sure in a couple weeks when Noah goes in for his 9 month appt.

We had our first prenatal appt this afternoon. Chad & Noah came with me. Dr. Kaminskas said everything looks good. Unfortunately, she didn’t check the heartbeat like I was hoping she would. The next appt will be much more fun. We’ll hear the heartbeat and hopefully the results back from my blood work. We get an ultrasound, too. The bummer is that Chad will be working, so he’ll miss hearing and seeing Baby B for the first time. He missed Noah’s first ultrasound, too. I’ll just have to show him the tape and play the recording. I wonder if I’ll tear up again during the sonogram? Yeah, I probably will. :P

Traci found out I am preggo ‘cause she was SNEAKING on my BBC birth club board!!! HAHAHAA!!! She’s such a little stinker! I thought she was calling me to tell me that she was in labor. But…no!! Isn’t she bad???

I’ve got TWO pimples now! ARGH, I hate not being able to use my acne medicine or Clearasil, but I know it’s best for the baby if I don’t, so I will suffer. ;)

I have a feeling I’m having another boy. I’m craving meat. I had pizza for lunch with sausage and mushrooms and it was soooo good! I’m usually not a sausage girl, but I’ve had it two days in a row now. Protein = boy??? It happened last time. We’ll see in December!

You know you’re pregnant (ie, hormones raging) when you cry at a silly song sung in a kid’s show! I happened across a sign language show on Sunday mornings on PBS. It’s very cute and I was tearing up at the song about having “a family that loves me”. I’m such a wimpy mess right now.

Noah & I went shopping today at the Spectrum. I really wanted to find a pregnancy journal since I didn’t do that when I was preggo the first time. I found a super cute one, perfect for my 2nd. And I agonized over the different baby journals for baby #2, too. I ended up getting the exact same one that we got for Noah ‘cause I think it’s the most comprehensive, plus has lots of room to write. Plus, then the babies won’t be upset that one has one, and the other doesn’t.

I also looked at maternity clothes at Old Navy and Target. Nothing cute on sale. Bummer. I need clothes already. I’ve never stopped wearing my maternity pants and Traci’s still got my stuff ‘cause KJ hasn’t come yet...and I can’t tell her that I need them ‘cause we’re waiting until week 12 to start telling everyone. I can hold out a couple more weeks though...I better not be getting that big that fast! I really don’t want to gain 50 lbs again. That was uncomfortable!!! Plus, I’m still overweight from Noah. I anxious for our first prenatal appt on Friday for sooo many reasons – see how much I weigh, get an official due date, ultrasound??? Probably not, but how cool if we do!!! That would make it an easy and fun way to share the news. Nah, we should let Noah tell everyone with his onesie since he’s told everyone else! He’s on a roll!

He’s such a good baby and lets me drag him everywhere I need to go. He was great during our shopping day. Unfortunately, I interrupted his nap and so he didn’t get much rest this afternoon. He was cranky, so I put him to bed an hour early at 6:30 pm. At 9:30 pm, when we dream feed him, he was WIDE AWAKE! I was so afraid that he wouldn’t go back to sleep when I put him down after his bottle, but he didn’t make a peep. He’s such a good baby!!!

Still nursing my cold. Chad pampered me today and I got to eat and sleep and eat and sleep. He did all the cooking and took care of Noah the whole day. I didn’t do a THING! We finally watched Cars. Cute movie. I wonder why it wasn’t a bigger blockbuster?

Stayed home sick today. It’s so hard when you can’t take anything. Normally, I’d be taking cold-ease and sucking on lozenges, but I know it may not be safe for the baby.

Chad wanted to give Noah his very first hair cut tonight. I couldn't believe he suggested it. But now that it's done, Noah looks so much better. In the "before" picture, he looks like a crazy Jack Nicholson! LOL! His hair has been growing really unevenly since he lost almost all his hair from rubbing his head everywhere and anywhere. Noah didn't cry, but he kept trying to grab the clippers and had this look like "what is that sound and what are you going to do to me with that thing?" He looks super cute now. (Pictures and video are posted here.)

We were at our annual Easter Olympic family get-together this weekend in Vegas and thought it was the perfect time to tell our family since most everyone was there. We had Noah wearing his “Big Brother” onesie and asked mom to get him up from a nap and change his diaper. Chad was videotaping and mom didn’t notice his shirt at all! Chad just kept looking at me and I just laughed because it reminded me of when he didn’t look at Noah’s onesie either! HAHA! Our cousin Kim walked into the room, anxious to see Noah for the first time, and casually read his onesie out loud, not knowing that no one knew...THEN my mom finally got it!

Noah experienced his first finger food tonight. We sat him in his Bumbo and threw a few sweet potato puffs onto his try. Most of them were swept around the tray and onto the table. He tried to pick them up, but I think his chubby fingers got in the way. We think it's funny that he doesn't know what to do with them once he does manage to pick one up. And most of the time, he doesn't even know he's got one in
his hand. It's fun watching him try to put them in his mouth. Most of the time his fists are closed and he doesn't know that he needs to open his hand to get the puff in his mouth. Yes, we will have hours of entertainment watching him practice this skill. (Pictures and video are posted here.)

I went to a PICS class at Saddleback after work tonight to learn more about digital photography. I soooo want a new, BIG digital camera! It was such a great class. Just a few people there. I was in a small group with Gene the instructor and Penelope, another “student”. I was the least experienced there! I asked about the next class and Gene said I should just join the PICS ministry! Why didn’t I think of that??? It was one of those "duh" moments - like when I realized I should be part of the Ohana hula ministry. It's so obvious that I don't even see it. ;) I’m VERY excited and can’t wait to start!!! Another perfect opportunity, timed perfectly, and falling right into my lap. It is meant to be.

Noah is 8 months old today! He got to try out his brand new Britax Marathon car seat today! He loved his birthday present! He looks way cute in it and we’re excited that he’ll have such a safe seat in the car for the next several years.

He's eating really well now and almost always sucks the bottle dry at each meal (7-1/2 to 8 oz). We started him on Size 4 nipples a couple weeks ago. They are slightly too fast for him, but not bad. Whoa, the burps he gives after those though are big and loud! He's vomited a couple times afterwards. I guess I should pay attention to see if it's only when we feed him with the 4's. Wow, why did it take me this long to think about doing that? Bad mommy!

He's eating his food and cereal in mass quantities, too. He's now crawling yet, but we will start serving him some finger foods so he can start practicing his pincer grasp and his chewing. That will be fun!

He's getting chunky. His wrists are starting to look like there are rubber bands around them. And he's got 4 boobs now. LOL! He's still in Size 3 diapers and wearing mostly Size 6 month clothes.

He's still sleeping through the night. Yay! He's usuall in bed by 7:30 pm and he won't make a peep until around 8:30 am or so.

He's just recently started to complain when you leave his sight. If you go around the corner, or leave him even for a second, he starts fussing...poor little, needy boy. ;) Thank goodness, he's cute!

I swear I’m feeling the baby kick. But there’s no way it could be yet. It’s the size of a small lentil been (4-5 mm)! “They say” it’s probably indigestion. I think I had a couple boughts of it this past weekend.

I picked up dinner for us at Daphne’s – no feta cheese for me now that I’m preggo. I gotta start remembering what I can and can’t eat...like no fish...no caffeine...gotta be decaf tea...

Happy Easter! Chad, Noah & I all took a nap together today! Gosh, how we love vacations! :) Then we all went on a 2-hour adventure to find ice cream to serve with the chocolate soufflés we were making for dessert. That's what we get for postponing the shopping trip and thinking the little po-dunk shops would be open on the holiday! Thank goodness everyone loved the dessert. Otherwise, it would have been a total waste. We barely had enough to go around. There were no leftovers!

We are in Lake Nacimiento on vacation. Chad's friend Scott has a huge home there and had 5 families over for the weekend. The kids totally outnumbered the adults. Noah made so many friends there. They all loved playing with him and watching Baby Einstein together. It was very cute.

I had two naps yesterday after our long drive. Plus we had gotten up at 3:30 am to get ready for our road trip! I really wanted to take one today, but we were on the lake. It was Noah's very first boat trip and so his very first experience wearing a life jacket. He didn't like it at all. But, once we started moving, he didn't make a move. It was like he was stunned by the movement of the boat and the wind in his face...it was too cute.

Noah got to sleep on the side of the mountain. Chad had brought Noah's portable crib and set it up so Noah could take a nap. It was very cute. I’ve never seen Noah sleep on his side with his thumb still in his mouth. We posted some pix, so you can see him in the photo album.

On the drive to Lake Nacimiento, I suggested Christian as a boy’s name, and Chad liked it!

We decided we like a hula girl theme for the nursery, if we have a girl. We would now have a place to put all my Lilo & Stich stuff, too!

I just got my BFP HPT (big fat positive home pregnancy test) this morning! OH MY GOSH! I did my thing and, by the time I read the instructions to figure out what to look for, the line was already there! I didn't have to wait 2 minutes, more like 2 SECONDS! I had to keep my hand over my mouth to keep from screaming! I felt my eyes welling up and I took a pic before hiding the stick from Chad.

I'm trying to figure out a creative way to tell him tonight. I could hardly contain my excitement this morning, but he was still sleeping when took the test and wanted to wait to tell him in a fun way! I can hardly wait to see him and Chad tonight and share the news!
I haven't told anyone, except I did call my OB's office on the way to work! I’m so excited!

My due date will be around Dec 4. I did bring to work some blank onesies that will fit Noah and some fabric paint pens. I'm thinking of writing something like...Big Brother in Training...Dec 07.

I was just thinking that I don't feel any different yet, although I did wake up yesterday with some ever slight nausea.

I'm assuming Chad will want to keep Anya for the girl name, since that's what we wanted if we had a girl the first time around. I'm guessing we'll wait to find out the sex on this one, too. Some people think it's crazy and hard to do, but it was fun to wait. I'm a planner, too, so go figure!

The "reveal" was very fun and Chad is so excited! I was able to videotape him under the premise that I wanted to get a shot of Noah’s new tooth (he has TWO now)! Well, I finally had to say "LOOK AT HIS NEW ONESIE!" LOL! And then he knew!

You can watch the videos (see the “videos” section). I accidentally stopped taping, so there are two videos. This first one is Chad finally reading the Noah’s onesie. This second one is Chad being stunned from the news and realizing AGAIN what he just found out!

GOT HOME AND HAD CAKE FOR DINNER! LOL! I had a late and huge lunch, plus I might just be a little too excited to eat!

Tonight, I had my first blackout ‘cause I got up too quickly from laying down.

We took our first belly pic!

We went shopping for Noah's next car seat today. I did a ton of research online and we decided on the Britax Marathon. It's supposed to be the safest line of seats and the Marathon will last until Noah is at least 4 or 5 years old. We put Noah in the seat at Babies R Us and he looks very cute in it!

Now, I just gotta find where to be it for the least amount of money. Most places sell it for $269. Not cheap, but so worth it for the safety factor.
