Noah can roll over to him back going over his LEFT shoulder now! YAY!! Now, hopefully, he won't need us to help him when he rolls to any side of the crib now.

Recently, he's been showing signs of being really needy. We have been able to walk away and leave him to play in his exersaucer by himself or in his jumper by himself. But the last few days, he'll cry when we aren't in his sight. I hope it's just a phase that he's going through 'cause I got nothing done today. Instead, I waited until he was in bed for the night and then stayed up until 3:30 cleaning up around the house. At least I feel like I made a little bit of a dent in the clutter.

NOAH HAS HIS FIRST TOOTH! Chad felt it when he was playing with Noah. He pats Noah's lips when Noah makes sounds, so it's this funny ah-ah-ah sound. You can totally feel it just breaking through the top of his lower gums. Our boy is growing up! :)

He's been really tired today. He didn't make a sound until 10 am this morning. He's been fussy, too. We gave him teething tablets and now he's sleeping. I'm glad he can get some rest even though his gums are hurting.

Does anyone know if it's bad to make formula with boiling water? Sometimes I'm in a rush to make the next days bottles of formula and don't wait until the water has cooled before mixing in the powder. Will boiling water alter the quality of the formula? (I read that I probably don't even need to boil the water anymore, but I like to do it if I can.)

I try to avoid getting a whiff of Noah's formula when I make it. It smells like powdered milk...gross. Well, it IS powdered milk, but it just doesn't smell good to me. Noah sucks it down and loves it. Sometimes I can't avoid smelling it though, like when he burps afterwards. LOL!!!

Lani:  maybe you don't like the smell because you're prego again! I HOPE SO!!!

Noah started the morning by clucking his tongue -it's his newest trick! It's very funny and he does it really well.

We drove back from Mammoth this morning and arrived in 5 hours! Go, Speed Racer Chad! :) Thankfully, Noah is a great traveller and doesn't put up any fuss about being strapped in his car seat for hours and hours. He'll sleep and then wake up and play with his musical bee, then go back to sleep. He's such a good baby!

Noah's first day playing in the snow! It's his first trip to Mammoth...mommy's, too. Daddy is a really good skiier though, so he's been there many times before. Noah was all bundled up and ready to spend a couple hours outside with his other aunties and cousins, but mom & dad forgot that it was dinner time and forgot his bottle. So, the poor little guy only lasted a half hour, tops, before he started getting fussy for dinner. We got a couple of pictures before we left. We were in Mammoth from Mon thru Fri, but Noah got to play in the snow only ONCE. Bad mommy & daddy!

Noah had a couple of friends over for a visit today. There's a little brown bird (a sparrow?) that is ALWAYS at our kitchen window as if he wants to get in. He's always tapping his beak on the glass and singing as he flits from window pane to window pane. Noah loves to watch him. And just today, a little brown squirrel was seen! He has visited three times so far this morning, eating seeds or something that he found in the dirt near the trees. He crawls all around both planters and along our backyard wall. He's very cute. I'll post some pictures and video I took today. :)

I went into Noah's room this morning to get him up for the day. He was already awake and just lying there quietly, sucking his thumb...UPSIDE DOWN! HAHAHA!! He had rolled, scooched, kicked his way around the crib somehow last night and ended up with his head where his feet were and his feet where his head was when we put him to bed last night. I guess we should expect more and more movement now, especially since we're not using a blanket to tuck him in with this warm weather. It was too cute and too funny! :) Oh man, what are we in store for once he starts crawling and pulling himself up???!!!

We put Noah to bed around 8 pm tonight as usual. He's really easy to read as far as being tired goes. He starts making this cranky cry and we know it's time for a nap or bed. :) Anyway, he's usually really good about going to sleep at night and doesn't fuss or cry. Most of the time, he plays with his musical turtle in his crib, sucks his thumb and/or watches his fish mobile. Well, tonight, maybe 15 minutes after putting him down, he started howling! So, Chad & I tiptoed into his room and noticed he had rolled over to his tummy and got stuck there. He hates being on his tummy. He's been rolling over for a while, but this was the first time he's done it in his crib. We usually have him tucked in with a blanket, but because the weather has been so warm, we didn't put a blanket on him. The result: free reign over the entire crib!

He can only roll back onto his back going over his right shoulder and he was already all the way over to the side with his right shoulder against the crib, so there was no where for him to go. He was mad 'cause he hadn't figured out how to roll the other way. We decided to let him cry a little more and wait to see if he could figure out the way to roll over the other way. We walked out of his room and waited by the door, but he kept crying. So, we went back in and turned him back over to his back. He was fine after that.

A few more minutes went by and he start crying again. He had rolled over to his tummy again! HAHAHA!! Didn't he learn not to do that the first time? ;) So, we rolled him over to his back. But, this time, we put him close to the side rail so that he didn't have any room to roll over in the first place. That worked because he was asleep soon after. Silly cute boy!!!

Noah is such a good baby! The last couple mornings, I've sneaked into his room wanting to take a quick peak at our cute little sleeper. Well, both times, he was wide awake! I'd peak over the crib railing and see him looking straight back at me! He's so cute with his big brown eyes just staring back. But he doesn't make a sound. He just keeps sucking him thumb. I back up quietly, holding my breath, waiting for him to cry, as if to say "I want to get up, mama", but he hasn't! He seems to be content to just relax in his crib...until he gets hungry I guess. Gammie says he usually starts making noises after I've long gone, around 8 am. :)

Noah went to bed naked for the first time tonight! Well, practically naked. It's the most naked he's ever been anyway. He was wearing his sleep sack in addition to his diaper, but that's it. I put his sleep sack on primarily so that he wouldn't kick his way to the corner of the crib and get stuck. That sleep sack is good at making his kicks less effective. But I digress. This heat wave came out of no where and it was still quite warm upstairs when I put him to bed. He had been wearing just a diaper since this afternoon while Gammie was watching him and he fell asleep with just the diaper on in his bassinette. Sooo cute! It was strange to put him to bed with his arms totally exposed, but it was comfortably warm tonight. And he slept like a champ as usual!

Our boy is 7 months old today. Unbelievable! He's getting sooo big. I can hardly believe it's already been 7 months since he came into our lives. He's such a happy, fun, easy-going baby. We can't imagine how we lived without him this long. :)

He's eating really well and I think it's time for me to move to a size 4 nipple on his bottles. He always takes in a lot of air when he drinks. The best part is making him burp afterwards. It's always a big and loud one! HAHA!! He's getting a bit particular about the temperature of his formula. He can drink it cold if we're out and don't have access to a glass of hot water to warm it up. But a couple times, he'll just play with the nipple and will only drink it if we warm it.

The last month he's eaten all kinds of veggies and there's not one that he doesn't like, or that hasn't agreed with him which is good. I hope he doesn't have allergies to anything. Today, we started him on fruit. First up, pears! So far, he likes it! Once he goes through all the fruits, we'll start mixing it up and serving him BOTH veggies and fruit in the same day...whoa! I know, we're getting crazy! ;)

I really wanted to try and make Noah's baby food, but I just never found the time or energy. The baby food jars and containers for sale are so convenient. Plus, they have lots of organic varieties now. Noah likes them just fine. One baby food that we aren't going to buy is bananas. Seriously, how hard is it to mash one up? That one, I know I can totally do! :)

Chad did some major pruning in the yard today. He mowed the front and back yards and then pulled out 6 palm trees from the backyard. He loves his chain saw. It looks a lot better now - not so crowded and overgrown. It looks cleaner and more open. We had to use 2 neighbor's green recycling trash bins for the green waste because there was so much. Chad has to take a few of the trees to work to dispose of them there because we still didn't have enough from in the 3 trash bins. I washed down the front porch and driveway of all the ash that had fallen.

Afterwards, we all went to Home Depot to buy paint for Noah's new room. We found a nice blue - not too pale or baby-ish and not too bright. We think it will look great with the border and planets we got to decorate his room. Chad got a good start painting tonight and we'll finish it tomorrow.

Noah rolls like a champ now! He can roll to his left really easily. I haven't seen him roll to his right, but Chad says he can do it. Now, Noah gets fussy because once he rolls, he's on his tummy (he pretty much hates tummy time), and then he doesn't know how to roll again to his back. He hasn't tried to crawl yet.

He can sit up really well now, too. Just a couple weeks ago, I would have to get ready to catch him because he'd fall easily. Now, he can catch and balance himself when he starts leaning to one side or the other. He still falls back most easily though.

The other cool thing is, because he's holding up his head and sitting up so well, I can hold him with just one arm and him sitting on my hip. He's not such a little baby anymore! :)

He's been sleeping through the night (thank God!) and takes a couple naps a day, too. One time, it was a 5 hour nap! Whoa. Many times, we'll sneak to his crib or bassinette to catch of glimpse of his cutenss sleeping, but instead we'll find him wide awake just looking around and content sucking on his thumb.

Noah still has no teeth, but lots of drool. He's eating his veggies really well and seems to like all of them - avocado, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes & carrots so far. He eats rice and oatmeal cereal, too, and about 24-28 oz. of formula each day. Thank goodness there was no allergic reaction to anything. He definitely recognizes the bottle now and know that it means milk. We have to hide it, otherwise he won't eat his cereal or veggies until he has it. He tries to grab the bottle when he's drinking, but he can't hold it himself yet.

Noah's smiling more now. I love coming home and watching him form a smile and move his arms excitedly when he sees me. I think he's recognizing his name now, too. His hearing is very good and he looks in the right direction when he hears noises.
