Noah started rolling over! I was at the office working, but Chad was home with him when he did it THREE times! For Christmas, Auntie Lani bought Noah this monkey that moves and makes monkey sounds, and Noah was trying to get him. :) As Chad said, our son is a GENIUS!!!! HAHAHAA!!!
Comments:Papa Ben: Can't say more than what Mama said. I second that emotion.Mama Lori: That's my boy...takes after his Mama. I noticed it the other night and gave him a little push to get him going. Now he's on his own. What a big, smart boy!Add a comment:

HALLELUJAH!! Noah is sleeping through the night again! He still eats every 3 hours and is now up to 6 oz. at each fedding.
He loves blowing raspberries now and ends up making drooly bubbles. It's very funny. And I finally discovered a sure fire way to make him laugh - blow on his belly! :)
I woke up kinda engorged this morning. I haven't expressed in 3 days (my longest stretch yet) and needed to pump. I got 6 ounces...that's all I made in 3 DAYS! I used to get between 6 oz. and 12 oz. every 3 HOURS! My supply has dwindled so fast since I started weaning. I wonder if I'll need to pump ever again...
Noah is such a good baby. We had lunch with my friends Mary & Kim today at the Irvine Spectrum. It was a gorgeous day out. He just hung out with us in his Bumbo and didn't fuss at all as we walked around. We ended up at Dave & Busters and he fell asleep despite all the loud games and kids screaming. We went to CostCo and Target after that. He was asleep during most of it. When he finally woke up, probably hungry and tired of being carted around everywhere, he let out one little "wah" and then stuck his fingers in his mouth. He self-soothed himself! And he was content until I finally got us home and was able to feed him. He's such a good baby! :)Comments:Add a comment:

It's Noah's 6-month birthday today! We've been home all day just eating, sleeping and playing. He was playing in his favorite toy, his jumper, while I was getting ready for dinner upstairs. It got quieter, so I walked down and checked on him. He heard me and turned his head to look my way. His eyes were half closed and looked so sleepy. It was so cute. So I put him in his bassinette for a nap. He fussed a teeny bit, but was asleep in no time. I checked on him a few minutes later, and he looked soooo darn CUTE!
He's been such a joy today and it's amazing how much he's already grown in 6 months. He's definitely got a personality now. He's very easy going and a really happy, content baby. He doesn't cry unless he's hungry or bored. His hair is finally coming in. And he's got the cutest smile!!! :) He's been doing this super high-pitched squealing thing, usually when he's happy. Chad & I can't even duplicate it it's so high. He's also recently discovered his feet. He'll play with them usually when he's in his Bumbo or when we're changing his diaper.
I started calling him my little wiggle worm because when he's lying down he does this wiggly motion when he's happy or excited. It's very cute and always makes me laugh. He's not rolling over yet, but he's almost halfway there. He's able to sit up a little bit, too, but we still have to hold him 'cause he'll fall over if he starts leaning. No teeth yet, but he's sure drooling a ton. He's learning to self-sooth himself by sucking on his fingers. We just got him a mirror for his crib, so he can start playing (hopefully) in his crib when he wakes up instead of crying if he's bored.
Because he's on cereal and mostly formula now, his poops are thick and sticky now, not to mention stinky! But no matter how smelly, he's still the cutest thing EVER! We will be starting real food soon (probably peas first) and I can't wait to see what happens to his poops then! HAHAHAH!!!Comments:Add a comment:

I finally moved Noah to the Stage 2 nipples on his bottles. I probably should have switched over sooner, but he didn't seem to mind the slower flow rate. Yesterday was also the first time I had "bring" food with me since Noah & I were out running errands all day. Up 'til now, I was able to just pull out the boob whenever it was meal time. But since I'm weaning him off breast milk and no longer nursing, I had to pack a bottle of formula. I'm glad I remembered that. He's been doing great with the transition to formula, too. I hope it will be easy when we start feeding him his first real food on Saturday when he turns 6 months old! :)

I got my second migraine ever yesterday. The very first one was back in October. It started in the late morning as a headache and got worse and worse. I had taken some Advil, but it wasn't helping. Then came the nausea. I thought it was maybe 'cause I was hungry, so I ate lunch. But I still felt horrible. I got sick a little in the bathroom and then went back to my desk. It hurt to just look at the computer screen! I ended up leaving work at 2 pm. I got in my car and had started driving home when I had to pull over. I jumped out of my car just in time 'cause I got sick in the BUSHES at the hotel parking lot on the corner! SO GROSS!!! I still felt awful. I finally got home, went straight to bed and slept it off.
I wonder if becoming a mom causes migraines? Just wondering if giving birth may have changed my body for good.
Just to let you know - migraines suck!!!Comments:Add a comment:

Chad & I belatedly celebrated our 1-year anniversary this past weekend. He wanted to surprise me and not tell me where we were going. But he slipped a couple weeks ago. Poor guy. He can't keep a secret! HAHA!! Anyway, I knew we were going to San Diego. But I didn't know how AWESOME the place we were staying was going to be! He was so cute. He didn't even want me to know what he was packing for us for food. He kept telling me the "camp site" this, the "camp site" that...'cause he knows I'm not a camper! But as we packed up the car, I had second thoughts that maybe we WERE camping 'cause he brought so much stuff with us! The whole cargo area was packed and it was just the two of us! And then as we got closer to the place, there was a sign posted "campgrounds...right turn" or something to that effect. I looked at Chad and said "WE ARE CAMPING"! HA!
Thankfully, we didn’t end up at a campground. Chad had reserved a room for us at this amazing place called Crystal Pier Hotel. I’ve never seen hotel like this in my entire life. It’s actually a bunch of little “cottages” built on a pier! Our place was so cute and the view is SPECTACULAR! It’s better than any beachfront hotel in Hawaii ‘cause you don’t just get a view of the ocean. You are ON the ocean! The hotel’s slogan is “sleep over the water” and it’s so true. We woke up each morning to the most beautiful view. Chad cooked a huge breakfast (banana-strawberry french toast on the first day, then ricotta cheese pancakes the next, plus potatoes and bacon – YUM!) and I stayed in my pjs as we ate on our private little patio. We’d watch the waves roll in and surfers testing their skills. Chad wished he would’ve brought his wetsuit. The sound of the waves were loud, but I loved it. When you closed the doors, it was like Noah's sound machine was on very softly. I didn't have a problem sleeping at all. Even the movement from the waves didn't keep us up. And some of them felt like 7.0 after shocks! The sunsets were amazing from the pier, too. It was a gorgeous, sunny, warm, perfect weekend!
One of my most cherished memories of the weekend will be holding Noah and nursing him for the very last time. It’s so sad that that part of my momhood is ending. My supply has been dwindling and I can’t keep up with Noah’s appetite anymore. Plus, Chad & I are hoping to get pregnant again and I’ve read that nursing can cut into the nutrients going to the baby and that the stimulation may cause premature labor. Nursing has been such a wonderful experience for me mostly ‘cause Noah took to it so easily and was so gentle (most of the time). There have only been a handful of days when it was painful. But I've loved that bond and being able to cuddle him so closely and knowing that I was providing something so good for my baby.
I didn’t do a thing the whole weekend except sleep and eat, really! Chad spoiled me and did all the cooking. We went to the Gaslamp district for dinner on the first night and on the second night Chad had made reservations for us at a local place. I was expecting a nice, romantic dinner for 2 when we got there. And when the hostess directed us to our table, all I saw were larger tables. I didn’t even notice NOAH was already “seated” at one of the tables! HAHAHA! Chad had secretly arranged for my parents (who I thought were babysitting for us for the weekend in FULLERTON) and Noah to meet us for dinner. My parents hid in the corner of the restaurant when they saw me coming. I was shocked to see them there! When I asked my parents where they were staying, I was so surprised when they said that Chad arranged a "room" for them at the same place, too! He is a keeper! I have to retract what I said earlier. Apparently, he CAN keep a secret! And all the food he packed also made sense now. He was feeding 4! :)
It was weird to say goodnight to my baby and then go have a nice uninterrupted night’s sleep in the “room” next door. I imagine that’s what it must be like to live with a nanny. My parents were so great to give us that gift of sleep for the weekend. That was definitely a treat!
Chad definitely made it an anniversary to remember! It's my turn next year to plan our anniversary and there's no way I can come close to topping this one.Comments:Add a comment:
