Happy New Year! And what a year it's been for us. Our wedding and our baby boy were definite highlights. We're spending the new year at home and keeping it very low key since Noah is sick. We had plans to go to Mama & Papa's and spend the night, but they came over to our house instead so we didn't have to move the baby around so much and let him rest as much as possible. This was the first time Chad & I got to celebrate the new year since last year he worked and I was at my parents with Sue making place cards for our wedding!

Noah has his first cold! :( ARGH! I was trying sooo hard not to give my germs to him. Poor little guy. He's sneezing and coughing and has a runny nose. His right eye had a bunch of junk in it this morning, too. I hope it's not pink eye.

It was so sad. I put away all of Noah’s newborn and 0-3 months clothes. I didn't realize how much of it he never even got to wear. Cute stuff, too! He's getting so big. Why do they grow up so fast???

Since Chad's been sick and then worked on Christmas day, we finally exchanged our Christmas gifts tonight. Noah fell asleep, so we put him to bed and opened his presents, too. Kind of a let down since we didn't get to take pictures of him opening gifts with us. Oh well, there's a lifetime of Christmases ahead of us, right?

Noah's 1st Christmas! Chad has been sick for the past week and I caught some of the bug, too. Unfortunately, Chad thought he was getting better and then started feeling worse. Add a busy night at the station, and he was down for the count. So, Noah and I went to my parents without him and Chad slept through Christmas eve. :( We had dinner and then went to church at 7 pm (Julia fell asleep) and then opened presents when we got home. We opened Santa's presents Christmas morning (after he arrived of course) and spent a leisurely day at home. Noah & I visited Chad at work for dinner. Yep, he had to work Christmas Day - this year and the next TWO years - poor guy. Noah's still too little to remember right now, but next year and definitely the year after that will start becoming an issue. The truck cooked for the guys (as usual) plus all of us - their families. It was a huge dinner of pork tenderloin, roast beef, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, sweet corn cake, veggies and stuffing, not to mention dessert. Chad was feeling better, but still has a nagging cough. Hopefully, we can both kick these colds. I'm trying so hard to not get Noah sick...so far, so good!

I bought a huge tub of Aquafor for Noah's excema. It seems to help it a lot and Noah loves when I massage it on his face, scalp and neck. He has the cutest, most serene expression on his face when I put it on, like he's saying "I love the facials you give, mom!"

Chad & I both called in sick today from work. Chad feels worse than I do, but it was a tough night for me, too, with Noah waking up a couple times. I had to at least get our Christmas cards out since I was home. As long as the postmark is 12/25 or earlier, I'm happy. :)

Remember how I was saying Noah has been sleeping through the night? Well, over the past few weeks, he has gotten up once, twice, sometimes THREE times each night!!! UGH!!! I'm hoping it's teething, although I couldn't feel anything under his gums. He's drooling an awfully lot which is usually a sign and is a bit more fussy. Let's hope this passes...FAST!

Noah's 4-month check-up. HE GOT FOUR MORE SHOTS! Poor guy screamed so loud! I thought he was only supposed to get 2, and the nurse comes in with FOUR needles. :( He recovered pretty quickly. Thankfully, Gammie came along with me again, so she held his arms still while he was getting vaccinated. I hate to think of the time when I'll have to do that myself. Noah's still got cradle cap and eczema on his chubby cheeks. There are a couple of small patches on his back that I just noticed while we were at the dr's office since we had to undress him. His arms and legs have some rough, dry spots, too. Dr. Gali said to just lube him up! Other than that, Dr. Gali said he looks good and healthy. Yay! He's at the 50th percentile for his weight (15 lbs even) and length (24.75 inches). I was guessing Noah was closer to 16 lbs. Chad thought he was 17 lbs, 4 oz! I won that bet. :)

I fed Noah a bottle for the first time tonight! Gammie had fed him 2 oz. when I got home from work. So, I told her I'd try to finish feeding him so she could go home. Noah took his time, but eventually he completely finished the rest of the bottle. I felt so accomplished!

Noah is 4 months old today! He'd been doing so great and sleeping through the night. But the past couple of weeks, he's been waking up hungry in the middle of the night and been just a little more on the fussy side than normal. I'm guessing (hoping!) it's a growth spurt and that he'll start sleeping 8 hours again. He's drooling a lot more now, too, but I felt his gums and didn't notice any teeth trying to poke through. He's not rolling over yet. In fact, he's not even trying. He's very content to just lay there. HAHAHA! There's some light brown hair growing back on his head, so he's not looking so bald anymore. It's so soft and about 1/4 inch long already. He's been rubbing his face a lot lately, probably because his eczema is itchy. So, we've been putting socks on his hands at night so he doesn't scratch up his face. At church tonight, Noah was sitting on my lap. I looked down and saw more blood than I've ever seen come from my baby - which means just a drop really. He apparently scratched his left ear. I kinda freaked out. We've noticed his poops getting a little stinkier (even though he's still just eating breast milk) and changing colors (like the seasons!) to more green and sometimes brown. Lovely.

We took Noah to the Family Christmas Party at Disneyland tonight. It was Noah's first meeting with Santa AND Mickey! Chad & I were tired (what a surprise), so we basically raced from from photo location to photo location and then called it a night. You can see all the pictures in the "Photo" section.

We gave Noah a bath in our big tub for the first time tonight. I got in the tub with him thinking it would be easier. Soon afterwards, Chad got in, too. It was a family bath!

Noah is crying with tears now...before he'd just cry, no tears. My baby is growing up!
