Noah's first Thanksgiving - We drove on Wednesday morning to Vegas to spend the holiday with our family that live out there. It was a low-key holiday. Chad & I were tired, so we took a nap when we got there. Later that day, we had dinner with the family and then baked the pumpkin pies for the next day. Thanksgiving Day - We had a big breakfast at home and then everyone finished cooking and baking for the party. The Thanksgiving food fest started at about 1:30 pm and didn't stop. We took a break and watched Love Actually and then played a few really funny rounds of charades. On Friday, we had dim sum for brunch and then saw "The Body" exhibit at the Tropicana. It was very interesting and not as creepy as I thought it was going to be. After that, we drove home! I think Noah slept through most of the holiday and I think I only got ONE photo of him. What the bleep?!

Noah had his first off-road experience today! Chad drove us up to the highest point on top of Saddleback. We grabbed a bottle of wine (which Noah loves), packed a picnic and took a slow, rocky journey up the mountain. It took about an hour to get up to the very top. It was colder than I expected it to be, and a little windy. Luckily, Chad packed a beanie hat for me. Noah was a little fussy once we got up there, so Chad & I took turns trying to soothe him while eating dinner. The sunset was GORGEOUS from that vantage point. The colors were so amazing - orange and red and blue. We practically had a 180 degree view. We brought a movie to watch, but decided to head home instead. It was a fun night and we got some cool pictures. I hope to upload them into the Photos section tonight!

Noah laughed for the first time!! Chad was playing with him and made him laugh over and over again. It was the CUTEST THING! I had just come home from work and raced to grab my camera, so I missed the first few laughs. But I did manage to get the last one on video. It's pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself! I hope to post it soon under the video section.

Noah is 3 months old today! Which means...he's been sleeping through the night for an entire month! HOORAY! He eats approx. 4 oz. every 3 hours (6 am to 9 pm) and then sleeps until I wake him up to eat the next morning. He's such a good baby! His looks change almost daily, and he almost never crosses his eyes anymore. His got a really round head, except for the back which is getting flat. I hope I won't have to worry about that! He's also losing all his hair, poor guy! He's got a huge bald spot in the very back and he's also slowly losing the hair on the sides, too. We may have to shave his head, so it can all grow out evenly. A couple friends have done that, so I guess it's not such a terrible thing to do to your kid! His car seat is covered with baby hair. It's so sad. I should try and scrape some of it together and put it in his scrapbook.

We bought Noah a cool mobile from Babies R Us. It's the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders mobile. It's plays music of course, and little fishies swim around, matching perfectly with his Nemo decor. What's really neat is that it projects a light show on the ceiling. It's sooo cool. Chad & I put it together and were so excited when we turned it on. It filled the entire ceiling in our room! Chad is so funny and said "we're sleeping with this tonight!" And we DID. And it works! We were asleep in minutes. We woke up just in time to see the final episode of LOST. I still can't believe they're making us wait until mid-January before we see anything new!

We took Noah's 3-month pictures today (2 days early) since Chad & I both had a day off from work. He had his first professional photo session at The Picture People at the Shops at Mission Viejo. He did a great job and wasn't fussy at all. But he wasn't smiling a lot. We were shaking noise makers and talking baby talk and doing everything we could to get him to smile, but I guess he just wasn't in the mood. The girl taking the pictures did a great job and did get some great shots anyway. (Check them out in the photo section.) We love his "party" face! Chad says it's like Noah's saying, "hey, how you doin'?!!!" Noah's tracking with his eyes really well now. As we were pushing him in his stroller, he would watch Chad with his eyes wherever Chad went - up, down, side to side. It was really cute. He was looking just like the statues do in the Haunted Mansion that follow you everywhere you go!

Noah has started to suck his lower lip. It's kinda funny 'cause he looks so cute when he does it. I try to pull down on his chin to get him to stop, but he just sucks it in again!

Baby lint! Where is this gunk coming from!?!?! It's kinda sticky, too. I keep finding it between his fingers and toes, even in the folds in his palms. And I'm all OCD about it. Chad hates when I pick at him. ;) It's so hard keeping a baby clean and good smelling! I've got to pry his hands open 'cause he's always clenching his fist, and toes! I always seem to find some kind of build-up behind his ears and under his neck, too. And, wow, is it hard to clean his neck. He hates it, so he doesn't let me get in there very easily, plus all the chubby folds to deal with. And I constantly try to keep his fingernails short because (besides not wanting him to scratch his face) they get dirty, too! How is it possible for him to have dirty fingernails? Maybe he's out fixing the car when I'm not looking. ;) Just yesterday, I found some cheese-y stuff behind his knees. His KNEES! What the bleep??? His ears get quite a bit of wax build-up too, but on the outside! And he has a bad case of cradle cap (looks like really bad, gross dandruff) and super dry flaky skin on his cheeks. But he's still the cutest baby ever! ;)

We went to Babies R Us 'cause we needed a few things - more diapers (Noah's still in the 1/2 size - the 2's are still big for him), a bigger "Swaddle Me" blanket (since Noah's barely fitting in the size small ones), and hopefully a mobile for Noah's crib (we never got one for him and like the idea of having more for him to look at while in his crib and practice tracking objects with his eyes, too). Well, I got the diapers, and then started looking for the "Swaddle Me" blanket. I could only find smalls and larges. I guess they don't make mediums. Well, the large is HUGE! HAHAHA!! You should see this thing...I can't imagine swaddling a baby that big! I don't think I want Noah to get that big yet. I like him tiny like he is. :) It looks like it's for a ginormous baby. I couldn't stop laughing as I pulled it from the package and threw it in the hamper to wash. I found a cool mobile for Noah, too. It's a Fischer Price Ocean Wonders mobile, so it themes well with his "Finding Nemo" room. I didn't realize that all mobiles are made for only "Birth to 5 months". I wonder why? Babies aren't pulling themselves up yet at 5 months, right? Anyway, the mobile has music of course, but it also has a light show which project images on the ceiling for him to watch, too. The coolest thing about this mobile is that it has a remote! So, you can turn it on, or the music or the light show without having the baby see you. We can't wait to set it up and try it tonight!

Noah has found his thumb. Sometimes he'll start sucking on it, but his hand is still in a fist, so his other fingers get in the way. He'll somtimes try to put his whole fist in his mounth trying to do some kind of self-soothing and he'll make the loudest sucking noise. It's funny!

Today is Chad's first official day as Captain. The Chief came by Station 1 to do the honors, but the ceremony was quick and rushed 'cause the guys were getting a call. It ended up being a busy day at the station. But luckily the evening slowed down a bit so that everyone could celebrate with some pie and relax.

We have a phantom baby monitor which goes off and plays music every now and then. Scary. Chad suggested we unplug it. But if it goes off again when it's unplugged, I'll be even more wigged out, so I'm keeping it plugged in!
